General Notes:
From a query posted on the Henry Co., Iowa genforum: "BRADLEY, BRUTON, EDWARDS, HUXLEY posted by Laura Moody on Thursday, July 15, 1999 Enoch S. Bruton was listed in the 1850 Census in Salem Twp. and this is the last time I've seen his name. Did he divorce his wife, Luvisa Edwards Bruton and leave his six children? Was he killed? Does anyone know what happened to him? His widow married widower, John Hobson in 1854.Enoch's daughter Melissa Jane married John William HUXLEY (in Lee Co.) and lived for a while in Henry County and I can not find where they moved. Warren James Bradley enlisted in the Spanish American War with his place of residence as Salem and that he was a student. Was there a college in Salem at that time? He was a resident of Illinois before his enlistment, so something must have drawn him to Salem."
