Daughter of General Green. Because of family opposition, the couple eloped, drove 40 miles in an open buggy in the month of December to Washington where they were married. The young bride took a severe cold from which she never entirely recovered, although she lived 18 month into the marriage.

Amanda married Daniel William Flinn [11350] [MRIN: 3802], son of Samuel Flinn [11347] and Judith Kirk Wale [11346]. (Daniel William Flinn [11350] was born on 9 Jul 1828 in Madison County, Virginia and died on 15 Feb 1876 in Iowa Point, Kansas.)
