bullet  General Notes:

William came to Fayette County from Monroe County with his parents, Andrew and Elizabeth in 1866, then settled in the Page-Kincaid area. There he met and married Jency Kincaid in a ceremony performed by the Reverand William Johnson. He purchased 100 acres on Fork Ridge on Paint Creek Road in Fayette County on May 11, 1894 from his father in law, John Kincaid Sr. for $125.00. William was a farmer and a merchant, and owned a log cabin store near their home. On January 4, 1899 he sold a railroad right of way to the Kanawha and Pocahontas Railroad. It appears that William became incapacitated since his children and their spouses deeded his farm to his daughter Betty and her husband Abe Tyree on May 9, 1925.
