  General Notes:

Settled on the W. C. Richmond farm below Hinton, he moved to Winding Gulf about 1850. Six sons; Richard, Thomas, Jerry, Henderson, Rufus and Preston were Confederate soldiers. Jerry was killed at the last battle of Winchester, Virginia, September 19, 1864. Rufus was the grandfather of former governor Clarence Meadows.

Jeremiah married Nancy "Nannie" Cadle [28315] [MRIN: 8305], daughter of Thomas Cadle [15254] and Nancy Holt [9296], on 19 Mar 1826 in Giles County, West Virginia. (Nancy "Nannie" Cadle [28315] was born in Aug 1805 in Virginia, died in Dec 1909 in Raleigh County, West Virginia and was buried in Winding Gulf, Raleigh County, West Virginia.)
