General Notes:
Graduated from University of FL in 1974 with a degree in geology. He pursued his graduate studies at the University of Nevada School of Mines in Reno. His work took him to many parts of the world, including seven countries in Europe, six countries in Africa, the Persian Gulf, Peru in South America, and many of the United States of America. His final assignment was to China. He was killed in a helicopter crash while taking off from an off-shore oil rig in the Gulf of Tomkin, South China Sea, returning to Hong Kong, Nov. 1, 1984.
Buddy always wanted to be in the Army and spent hours as a child playing with his little plastic soldiers. During the Vietnam War, he tried desperately to enlist, but was rejected because of the residual paralysis from polio he had suffered at age four.
