Noted for her fiery temper. On one occasion when John Adams was serving as Selectman and one of his duties was to see that the town's indigent were cared for, he brought home some stray and needy children. She scolded him. "I won't have all the town's poor brought here, stark naked, for me to clothe for nothing.I won't be a slave to other folk's folk for nothing." Susanna married John Adams [20090] [MRIN: 6829], son of Joseph Adams [20092] and Hannah Bass [20093]. (John Adams [20090] was born on 8 Feb 1690 in Braintree, Massachusetts and died on 25 May 1761 in Braintree, Massachusetts.) Susanna next married Lt. John Hall [23454] [MRIN: 7905] about 1762. |
