Peter Davis married Susannah Meadows, who was the daughter of Josiah Meadows, and they are grandparents of William Davis, whose family is scattered throughout the United States. Josiah Meadows was a Revolutionary war soldier. Peter Davis was the father of John Davis, whose son was William Davis. William's father, John, married Mary Ann Fox, a daughter of William Fox. William Davis married Lucinda Williams. He was born Feb. 26, 1832; his wife was born June 6, 1836. After their marriage, they settled at Cabell, near Mount Tabor. The children of William and Lucinda were: Jane Davis, who was born Sept. 3, 1853. She married William Snuffer. Her sister, Susan Davis, was born Oct. 25, 1855, and married Sparriel Snuffer, a brother of William. William and Sparriel were sons of Peter Snuffer of Crab Orchard, who died in 1893. John W. Davis was born on May 10, 1857, and married Parmelia Lively; Henry, born Dec. 5, 1858, married Elizabeth Hutchinson; Mary E., born July 24, 1860, married Henry Harper, the founder of Harper; W. N. (Bub), born March 29, 1862, married Lena Fleshman; Margaret, born April 3, 1864, married Harvey Cook, father of Azel L. Cook; Ruhama, born Sept. 18, 1865, married Oliver Riffe; Peter B., born Dec. 22, 1867, married twice, first to Louisa Turner; Owen, born Aug. 14, 1869, married Ida Quesenberry; Celia, born May 2, 1871, married twice, first to Milton Hawley and next to Walter W. Wills; Andrew, born Oct. 14, 1872, married Mosby Prince, and Perny, born Aug. 11, 1874, married Edith Hutchinson. All of William and Lucinda's children are now dead, with the exception of Mrs. Celia Willis of Bluefield.
