Died of heart failure. Bomber pilot in England during WWII. Flew 65 missions. 1st Lt. As the story goes, he might have been promoted to Captain except that he assaulted a fellow officer who came in the barracks drunk and woke him after a mission.

He died July 30, 1998 at the Rideout Memorial Hospital. Born in Inglewood, he was a Yuba-Sutter County, California resident for 51 years. He was a self-employed farmer operating the Monnot Station (walnut processing) and Ranch for more than 35 years and grew peaches, walnuts and operated a walnut hulling and drying business.

After serving in the U. S. Army Air Corp from 1940 to 1947, he was Superintendent of the C. E. Sullivan Ranch for 15 years.

While in the military he served with the Europe 9th Air Force 386th Bomber Group and flew a Marauder B-26 bomber for 65 missions over occupied Europe and the Rhineland. On D-Day he participated in bombing coastal fortifications ahead of the landing troops.
