Rita Elizabeth Monnot [3410]
A genuine "Rosie the Riveter" at the Kaiser Richmond Shipyards during WWII. Her work was on Liberty Ships welding steel plates. I recall one comment of her's about the new female work force, "My supervisor chased me so much I don't know how we ever got a ship built or won that war."
Rita married Laurence Vincent Johnson [3411] [MRIN: 1188], son of Fred Johnson [3484] and Mary Paulik [3485], on 22 Dec 1943 in San Diego, California. (Laurence Vincent Johnson [3411] was born about Aug 1921 in Santa Rosa, California.) |
