Stapleton, GA -- Funeral services for J. Abner Dickson, 63 who died Wednesday
in an Augusta hospital, will be held today at 3 p. m. in the Stapleton Baptist
Church with Dr. Amplus Howard officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.

He was a native of Laurens Co., S. C. and owner and operator of the Dickson
Grocery, Stapleton for over 35 years. He was a member of the Stapleton Baptist
Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lois McNair Dickson, Stapleton; 2 sons, Smith
David and Tommy Abner Dickson, Stapleton, 4 sisters, Mrs. Nancy McNair,
Augusta, Mrs. Ruth Shannon, Columbia, Mrs. Elizabeth Briggs, Laurens, and Mrs.
Jewell Landrum, Macon, Ga.

Pallbearers will include S. Dickson Briggs, William C. Briggs, Dr. Hal McNair,
Brinson Linnenkohl, Weldon McNair, and Tom English.

Friends may call at the residence in Stapleton, or at M. W. Callaway and Sons
Funeral Home, Wrens, until 2 p. m. and then at the church.

married E. Lois McNair on 16 April 1949 in North Augusta, S. C.
