Born in Albemarle County, Virginia but moved to Clifty, West Virginia at an "early age". Benjamin built a log cabin in Clifty, West Virginia, which we are told, still stands.
Federal Census appears to shown Benjamin living with a family named Rupel (difficult handwriting). This is in 1850 Kanawha District 29, pg 42. This would be just prior to his marriage. It also appears his is one building down from John Lively, 70 years of age (father).
Benjamin married Rebecca Kessler [16939] [MRIN: 1783].
