1. Joseph Lively first appeared in the Amherst County person property tax rolls, 1785.
2. Joseph Lively, along with John and Robert Cash Lively, deeded their respective land tracts of 44 acres to Matthew Harris in 1796. (Amherst County, Virginia)
3. Joseph resided in Tennessee by 1815.
4. Joseph received five land grants in Tennessee totaling 600 acres.
5. On 20 May 1833 Joseph lost title to these lands due to nonpayment of taxes.
