bullet  General Notes:

Philip Seiber was a well-to-do land owner and slave holder. He was shot (ambushed) near the door of his house in Frost Bottom, Tennessee. This act set off a feud between the Seibers and another Frost Bottom family (the Duncans). (Family legend)

NOTE: Mary BEVERLY is rumored to have been Philip’s first wife and that she was born about 1760. She died about 1845/1850 in Anderson County, Tennessee. This information was taken from an old group sheet in SLC. I found a marriage record for Philip SEIBER and Mary LIVELY in Jefferson County and I am sure this Mary LIVELEY must be the second wife and the one that is mentioned in his will. I have recently seen that Philip’s first wife might have been Maria HIMMELBERGER but as far as I know it has not been proven. (Comments by Wanda at www.geocities.com/seiber777/SeiberPhilipSr)

NOTE: Philip may have been born in Germany. He was either in Pennsylvania or Maryland before coming to Tennessee. He is found in Jefferson County in 1802 where he married Mary Lively. Then he moved to what is now Frost Bottom in Anderson County, Tennessee. Anderson County was formed from Knox County in 1801. Philip is not found on the Anderson County tax list for 1802 or 1805. First record that I've found for him is a survey for 112 acres of land on 26 December 1809. (Comments by Wanda above)
