1. November 8, 1771 - Henry Bowers, and infant by Henry Bowers vs. Robert Campbell in a trespass case.

2. 1771, Frederick County Land Book 2, pg 218 - Henry Bowers, Jr. 370 acres purchase from Lord Fairfax.

3. September 19, 1787 Berkeley County Deed Book 8 pg 52 bill of sale from John Shover to Henry Bowers for household goods and furnishings.

4. December 13, 1787 Berkeley County marriage book #1 of 2 & 23: Henry Bowers Jr. and Elizabeth Young.

5. April 21, 1789 Berkeley County Deed Book 9 - 10 pg 45: Henry Bowers Jr. to William & Jon. Craighill: relative to suit in which Henry Bowers Sr. and Henry Bowers Jr. were defendants.

6. 1789 Berkeley County Land Book: Henry Bowers 107 acres.

7. February 23, 1801 Berkeley County Deed Book 16, pg 504: Nicholas Whitzell to Henry Bowers - two tracts of land; one 97 acres and the other 100 acres. A part of the Larrimer Tract between Back Creek and Sleepy Creek Mountain.

8. September 13, 1805 Berkeley County Deed Book 19, pg 418: Henry and Elizabeth Bowers to Charles Young the two above tracts which adjoin his 100 acres.

9. May 30, 1810 Berkeley County Deed Book 29, pg 449: Henry Bowers and Elizabeth Bowers to Jonas Hedges the two above tracts.

10. November 14, 1814 Berkeley County Deed Book 26 pg 282: Henry Bowers and Elizabeth Bowers to John and Suzanna Shober lot #27 in Marinsburg for their lifetime. Property to go to their children at their death.

11. September 13, 1803 Berkeley County Deed Book 19 pg 416: Henry Bishop Sr. and Catherine to Henry Bowers: two tracts near North Mountain.

12. April 1, 1842 Berkeley County Deed Book 46 pg 170: William and Henry Bowers, Executors to Jon & Henry Grove, sons of Shepherd B. Grove and Mary, his wife, daughter of Henry Bowers - a tract of 123 acres - part of the above.

13. December 22, 1831 Berkeley County Deed Book 41 pg 425: Henry and Elizabeth Bowers to Adam Bowers, lots #41 and 42 in Middletown.

14. April 14, 1834 Berkeley County Deed Book 40 pg 656: John O'Ferral to Henry Bowers, lots #24 and 2? in Middletown.

15. April 1, 1842 Deeded to Craighills. The remaining half was sold to Kreglow by William Bowers Executor for Henry Bower's estate.

16. April 9, 1836 Berkeley County Deed Book 41 pg 426: Henry Bowers Sr. and Elizabeth to Henry Bowers Jr. lots #24 and 25 in Middletown.

17. August 30, 1837 Martinsburg Gazette reports the death of Henry Bowers.

18. September 11, 1837 Berkeley County Will Book 12 pg 289: Henry Bowers Will. Henry Bowers Jr. purchased two tracts of land lying near the North Mountain for 11,500 from Henry Bishop and Catherine September 23, 1805. These two tracts had been conveyed to Henry Bishop Sr. by John Hays. The first tract contained 191 acres adjoining John Lyle, William Hayes and James Hayes. The second tract contained 122 acres. Henry Bowers Jr. left a will. It said to make sale of all landed real estate two years after the death of widow Elizabeth, then the land is to be sold and the money equally divided among the children. One third to wife Elizabeth, to granddaughter Harriet Couchman, wife of Michael $100.00. Negro boy Jerry is to be set free from slavery at the end of 1840 but not until wife dies. Appointed sons Henry, William and Adam Bowers executors.

On the tract described in item 11 above, Henry Bowers built his home; a two story sandstone structure that is still providing a home shelter today.

Henry married Elizabeth Young [9910] [MRIN: 3320] on 13 Dec 1787 in Berkeley County, Virginia. (Elizabeth Young [9910] was born on 4 Dec 1765 in Virginia, died on 6 Feb 1840 in Berkeley County, Virginia and was buried in Lutheran Cemetery Gerrardtown, West Virginia.)
